CHECK BELOW FOR THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE:
The rough schedule is normally posted LATE WEDNESDAY.  The Official Schedule is posted on Thursday Evening.

ISSUES:
1.  Do not forget to download and print your scoresheets.
2.  Please read the IYBC Rules.
3.  Clean up behind your bench at the games.
4.  Head coaches control your assistants, players and parents.  Keep it about the kids!
5.  No food or drinks can be brought in the gyms!!!!!!!  The only exception is team coolers for your players.
6.  COACHES, deal with your PARENTS when it comes to WHINING about the referees.
7.  Let's keep this simple.  The referees are there to REF.  The players are there to PLAY.  The coaches are there to COACH.  The SPECTATATORS are there to support their team in a positive manner.  Any variation from this will result in a warning to the bench, and then a technical on the bench if the problem persists.  Spectators who cause this will be ejected from all gyms during remainder of the tournament.
8.  All teams are to check in with Nicola, Freeman or Jerry prior to your first game of the season.

Tournament Director:  Nicola

READ the schedule over and report any legitimate problems immediately by EMAIL.  By legitimate, we mean not enough games, too many games, scheduled in two places at once, etc.  We do not mean your star player is playing soccer, volleyball, soccer, ping pong or bowling at the time you are scheduled to play basketball.  Prior to the tournament, please email all questions related to the tournament to:   info@iybc.org
Door Fees:
$5.00 Adults
$3.00 Students
*Only Coaches & Players get in free.
****All teams are to provide a scorekeeper/clock operator and a completed official IYBC scoresheet a minimum of ten minutes before all start times, or as soon as the prior game is completed.  Delaying the game past schedule start time while you complete your scoresheet may result in a technical to start the game.

****The IYBC expects players, coaches and fans to behave in a civil manner.  We endorse the competitive spirit, but players who cuss & whine about calls will be called for technicals.  Coaches who cuss and want to challenge every single call will receive a technical.  Any parents that berate any player, coach or ref will be banned from all IBYC events.  The worse side of competitive sports makes us all look bad.  Understand that we will not tolerate it!
IYBC RULES

All tournaments are played under National High School Federation rules, except for the following exceptions.

****All these forms must be provided at check in, or team will not be allowed to participate.

NOTE: It is the responsibility of the Head Coach to have these forms in a folder prior to each tournament. This will allow the IYBC representatives to check the forms and expedite the registration process.  Keep the folder with you throughout each tournament, in case a protest is filed, or we otherwise find a need to recheck your documents.  Any team caught violating the age rules will forfeit their remaining games, with no refund.  We will also report them to other basketball sanctioning boards.

TIE BREAKER POLICY:

When determining which team gets the higher seed out of "pool play," IYBC will first look to head-to-head competition.  If one team has a better record versus the other, that team will get the higher seed in "tournament play."  If seeding can not be determined by head-to-head competition, it will be determined by point differential, with a plus or minus 15 maximum.
At the end of "pool play," IYBC will determine the order for bracket play, using the above format.   If this does not determine the tie-breaker, IYBC officers will have a coin flip to determine the higher seed.
Coaches will be notified of their seed and what time they play.

UNIFORMS:

Each team must have either a reversible jersey, and/or have both a light and dark set of uniforms.

It is required that a number be on the back of the jersey. It's highly recommended that a number be on the front of the jersey as well.

Some of the gyms/facilities that are used by IYBC will not have access to locker rooms. Teams must arrive at the gym prepared to play.

Any misconduct, vandalism, etc. made by any coach, player, staff, or parent to any IYBC facility will lead to immediate dismissal and removal from facility.

FORFEITS:

Teams and coaches must be in the gym, ready to play at their designated times and places.

IYBC will allow a five minute delay in regards to game starting time. This simply means, that if a team is not at the designated court at the correct time, or five minutes after designated time, the team that is late or not there will forfeit that game an issued a loss for that game.

If the game before your game is running into your time slot, teams must be prepared to tip off no later than 5 minutes after late game is completed.

If a referee or tournament director has to forfeit a game due to misconduct or inappropriate behavior, team receiving the forfeit will also be issued a loss.

**If your team has to forfeit, there will be NO refunds issued for the tournament fee. No Exceptions!

Any misconduct or inappropriate behavior during a IYBC tournament weekend, either on or off the court will be the responsibility of the Head Coach of the team acting inappropriately. This would include any misconduct at the IYBC gyms, restaurants, Hotels, etc. that are affiliated with the IYBC during the scheduled weekend of tournament.

TOURNAMENT WITHDRAWAL POLICY:

Due to the extreme amount of time and effort it takes to schedule and organize a tournament, IYBC has adopted the following withdrawal policy:

*If a team withdraws on or before the entry deadline, IYBC will issue a refund 80 percent of fees. Coach or team representative must email the IYBC corporate headquarters at e-mail the withdrawal request to: j.beller@comcast.net

The decision on the protest will be made by the tournament director in a timely manner before protested game. If the tournament director rules in favor of the protesting Head Coach, the $100 protest fee will be refunded. The IYBC tournament director will have the final authority in regards to the protest.

TOURNAMENT CONDUCT:

Some teams must play early morning, and others must play into the evening, so please do not act victimized if you're scheduled for the first game or the last game on Saturday for Saturday Ball.  Somebody has to play in these spots, and there's likely to be times when you have to.  We can no more schedule all teams in a three hour window, than we can schedule all games across the street from each coach's house.  Please be reasonable with your scheduling requests, understanding that there are a lot of factors in and out of your age division that determine our ability to fulfill your request.  Just keep in mind, we accept requests as a courtesy, but will not accept them as a directive or condition to you playing in Saturday Ball or a tournament.
